Position Overview
Our Direct client is seeking an experienced Enterprise Systems Administrator to serve as a Subject Matter Expert supporting enterprise infrastructure, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Active Directory, Windows Server, and cloud environments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for administering, troubleshooting, securing, and optimizing enterprise systems while working closely with data center teams, application owners, OIT staff, and end users.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer Microsoft Azure Entra ID and Active Directory environments.
- Develop and maintain processes to optimize Microsoft Azure resources.
- Monitor and analyze Azure resource performance, identify resource contention, and recommend upgrades or configuration changes.
- Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and system documentation.
- Collaborate with data center personnel, OIT teams, and users on resource deployments, upgrades, and configuration changes.
- Administer and configure Azure and AWS infrastructure security.
- Support Azure and AWS application owners, administrators, and users with application access and permissions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Windows Server issues while minimizing impact to users.
- Develop, test, and execute PowerShell scripts for server monitoring, Active Directory administration, and Azure management.
- Research and recommend technical solutions based on functional and business requirements.
- Identify opportunities for infrastructure and operational process improvements.
- Perform additional Systems Administrator responsibilities as assigned by the Department.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or four years of equivalent work experience.
- Relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis, where applicable.
- 5+ years of Windows Server administration experience.
- 3+ years of experience administering Windows Server 2016 or newer.
- 3+ years of Microsoft Azure and cloud experience.
- 1+ year of AWS experience.
- 5+ years administering Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy in environments supporting more than 1,000 users.
- Hands-on experience writing, testing, and executing PowerShell scripts.
- Experience working in virtual server and cloud environments.
- Experience installing, maintaining, and supporting third-party applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- General IT experience requiring expertise across multiple system environments.

- This position is designated as essential staff and may be required to report for duty during emergencies or potential emergencies as directed by the Florida Department of Corrections.
- Candidates requiring access to the Department's network must complete Security Awareness Training within 30 calendar days of hire.
- All selected candidates must successfully complete a Level II Background Check.
