Since 1994, Infinite Body Piercing, Inc. has set the standard for professional body piercing in Philadelphia. We offer a full range of services, from ear piercing and simple jewelry insertion to surface anchors and genital piercings, and we strive to be a safe and welcoming space for both clients and staff.

Full-time Schedule: 4 days a week, 10:45 a.m. to close

Starting Wage: $20 per hour

Jewelry Specialists are responsible, under the Operations Manager and Piercing Manager, for maintaining all aspects of the retail procedures performed at Infinite. In the absence of the Operations Manager and/or Piercing Manager, the Jewelry Specialists report to the senior piercer on duty.

Key Responsibilities

Basic duties include, but are not limited to:

• Greeting and assisting customers, including completing paperwork, showing and selecting jewelry, and processing transactions
• Supporting the piercing team by providing appropriate jewelry selections for procedures
• Opening and closing cash registers, resolving issues when they arise, and managing related paperwork (printing, emailing, and filing)
• Answering the phone
• Processing special orders with thorough follow-through and follow-up
• Addressing customer questions and requests, and resolving issues when necessary
• Performing daily cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, emptying trash and recycling (excluding piercing rooms and bio room), and cleaning the bathroom
• Regularly inspecting the lobby, counter area, and display cases, ensuring a clean and professionally presented studio
• Maintaining and organizing medical and office supplies, putting away new items as they arrive, monitoring supply levels, and assisting with or completing studio deep cleaning tasks
• Maintaining jewelry displays, storage, and organization, including handling all jewelry repacks, packaging and putting away new jewelry, maintaining jewelry backstock, and assisting with or completing monthly case dusting
• Handling customer complaints and concerns, when appropriate
• Assisting in training new Jewelry Specialists
• Conducting inventory counts as assigned
• Receiving, checking in, and packaging jewelry
• Assisting with piercer back work as assigned
• Completing additional duties and projects as assigned
• Foster and encourage a positive environment of teamwork, mutual respect, professionalism, and high morale

Qualifications

• A personal connection to and passion for body piercing
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative team-oriented attitude
• Proficient mathematical skills related to jewelry sizing (memorization skills and familiarity with fractions), managing cash transactions, and completing nightly bookkeeping tasks
• Ability to quickly learn and retain in-depth product knowledge and stay updated on new materials and products
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a genuine interest in working with people
• Ability to remain composed and professional in stressful situations
• Demonstrated decision-making abilities
• Strong work ethic and effective time management skills
• Ability to effectively prioritize and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment, with a sense of urgency and follow-through
• Ability to move or handle supplies as needed
• Flexibility to work varied hours/days based on business needs
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in at least one of the following fields:
• Retail,
• Food service, or
• Customer service.
• Prior piercing industry experience is not required but is a plus.
