About Us

Industrial Automation Co. is a Raleigh-based supplier of industrial automation parts and repairs, serving manufacturers across the country and internationally. We're growing our online presence and want to bring our products to life with real video and photography — and we're looking for a creative student or individual to help us do it.

The Role

This is a hands-on content role for someone who's comfortable on camera and enjoys creating. You'll ideate and film short product videos — appearing on camera as our spokesperson to explain what a product is and why it matters — and shoot clean product photography for our website. These videos and images go directly on our product pages, focused on our top-selling and highest-value products.

You don't need to be a professional editor — we handle editing separately. What we need is someone who can come up with the idea, set up the shot, and confidently deliver it on camera.

What You'll Do

  • Ideate product videos — come up with simple, clear concepts that explain what a product is and what it's used for
  • Film the videos — set up and capture footage that's ready to hand off for editing (you know your way around framing, lighting, and audio basics)
  • Be on camera as the spokesperson — present naturally and clearly, talking through our top-selling and high-dollar products
  • Shoot product photography — clean, consistent product images for the website and catalog
  • Organize and hand off raw footage and photos for editing and publishing

Editing is outsourced, so you won't be editing videos yourself — though basic editing skills are a plus.

You're a Great Fit If You

  • Are a current student, recent graduate, ideally in communications, marketing, media, film, or a related field
  • Are confident and natural on camera — this is the most important thing
  • Know the basics of filming: framing, lighting, and capturing clean audio
  • Have an eye for clean, well-lit product photography
  • Are a self-starter who can take a product and turn it into a clear, engaging piece with minimal direction
  • Can work on-site in Raleigh (this is where the products are)

Nice to Have

  • Your own camera or a good phone camera setup
  • Basic photo/video editing skills (Adobe, CapCut, or similar)
  • Any experience creating content for YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram

Details

  • Pay: $15/hour
  • Hours: ~15–20 hours/week, schedule flexible around classes
  • Location: On-site at our Raleigh office/warehouse (544 Pylon Drive) — you'll be filming and photographing physical products
  • Term: Semester-based, with potential to continue

To Apply ([email protected])

Send us:

  1. A short (30–60 second) video of yourself on camera talking about any product you like — could be anything, a gadget, a pair of shoes, a coffee maker. We want to see how you present, not production quality.
  2. Any photography or video samples you have (a link or a few images is fine).
  3. A quick note on your major, year, and availability. Resume can be sent.

We're excited to see what you can do — creativity and on-camera presence matter more to us than a polished résumé.
