Full-Time | Field & Office Hybrid | Growth-to-Management Opportunity
We are a fast-growing environmental services company specializing in mold assessments, indoor air quality (IAQ), and building hygiene. We’re looking for a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) with strong experience in mold assessment and indoor environmental science. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in both fieldwork and leadership—and who is ready to grow into a management position.
About the Role
In this hybrid position, you will divide your time between field inspections, technical oversight, lab support, and strategic/operational leadership. You will play a central role in maintaining scientific accuracy, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting the ongoing growth and evolution of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Fieldwork & Technical Assessments (40–50%)
- Conduct mold assessments, indoor air quality inspections, pre-purchase property inspections, and related environmental evaluations.
- Develop detailed mold remediation protocols that adhere to industry standards (IICRC S520, AIHA guidelines, etc.).
- Perform post-remediation verification (PRV) inspections and interpret analytical results.
- Produce clear, science-based reports for clients and internal teams.
Quality Assurance & Best Practices (20–25%)
- Oversee day-to-day technical operations to ensure adherence to industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve internal protocols, safety procedures, and training materials.
- Serve as an internal subject matter expert on mold, environmental sampling, and indoor air quality science.
Laboratory Support & Analysis (10–20%)
- Analyze mold samples using light microscopy.
- Assist and mentor in-house lab staff.
- (Preferred) Training from McCrone Research Institute or equivalent microscopy program.
Client Communication & Education (10–15%)
- Conduct follow-up calls with customers to explain results, answer questions, and guide next steps.
- Provide clear, empathetic, and scientifically grounded communication with homeowners, property managers, and contractors.
Strategic Growth & Leadership (10–15%)
- Work directly with ownership to identify new service opportunities and long-term business strategy.
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure accurate service alignment and technical support during the sales process.
- Take on increasing leadership responsibilities, with the potential to advance into a department management or director-level role.
Qualifications Required
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) credential, or eligible within 12 months.
- Florida Licensed Mold Assessor (or ability to obtain license).
- Strong background in mold, IAQ assessments, building science, or environmental health.
- Experience writing mold remediation protocols and performing PRVs.
- Excellent scientific communication skills—written and verbal.
- Solid understanding of industry standards (IICRC, AIHA, ASTM, EPA guidance).
Preferred
- Microscopy experience with mold spore identification.
- Training from the McCrone Institute or similar microscopy certification.
- Experience working in or managing an environmental laboratory.
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Familiarity with strategic planning or operational improvement.
