Account Executive - Commission-Only (Remote)

Location: Remote (Central Texas preferred, nationwide considered)

Compensation: 25% commission on all closed deals + 10% recurring monthly commission on retainers (as long as client is active)

Role Description

This is a remote, contract role for an Account Executive. The Account Executive will be responsible for identifying and acquiring new clients, building and nurturing relationships, and increasing revenue through strategic sales initiatives. Day-to-day tasks include actively prospecting leads, conducting needs assessments, preparing and delivering sales presentations, negotiating contracts, and ensuring client satisfaction. Collaboration with internal teams to develop tailored marketing and business strategies will also be a key aspect of this role.


This is a commission-only position designed for experienced sales professionals who thrive in performance-driven environments and want to build long-term passive income through recurring commissions.



What You'll EarnCommission Structure:

  • 25% commission on ALL closed deals (retainers, one-time projects, consulting engagements)
  • 10% recurring commission on monthly retainers (paid every month as long as the client is active—no cap, no expiration)



How It Works:

Example 1: $5.5K/month Growth retainer closes

  • Month 1: You earn $1,375 (25% of first month)
  • Month 2 onward: You earn $550/month (10% recurring)
  • Year 1 total from this one client: $7,425


Example 2: $2K/month Starter retainer closes

  • Month 1: You earn $500 (25% of first month)
  • Month 2 onward: You earn $200/month (10% recurring)
  • Year 1 total from this one client: $2,700


Example 3: $6K one-time project closes

  • You earn $1,500 (25% commission)
  • No recurring (one-time project)

Realistic Earnings Scenarios:


Year 1 - Modest Performance (3 clients closed):

  • 2 Starter retainers ($2K/month each) + 1 Growth retainer ($5.5K/month) + 1 one-time project ($6K)
  • Year 1 Total: ~$18,000


Year 1 - Strong Performance (6 clients closed):

  • 3 Starter retainers + 2 Growth retainers + 1 Ultimate retainer ($9.5K/month) + 2 one-time projects
  • Year 1 Total: ~$45,000


Year 1 - Rockstar Performance (10+ clients closed):

  • 5 Starter retainers + 4 Growth retainers + 2 Ultimate retainers + 3 one-time projects
  • Year 1 Total: ~$75,000+


Year 2+ - Passive Income Builds:

  • If you close 20 retainer clients over 2 years and retain 85%, you're earning $6K–$10K/month in recurring commissions alone—even if you stop selling.


The upside is unlimited. The more you close, the more you earn—forever.



QualificationsRequired Experience & Skills:

  • 2+ years of B2B sales experience with proven track record closing deals in the $2K–$20K range (agency, SaaS, consulting, or similar)
  • Proven sales skills including lead generation, cold calling, prospecting, and account management
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation abilities with experience delivering compelling sales presentations to C-level executives and business owners
  • Experience in digital marketing with solid understanding of SEO, SEM, social media advertising, CRM systems, and other marketing services—you can speak intelligently about these services with clients
  • Ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies in a results-driven, commission-only environment
  • Proficiency in data analysis and using analytics to inform decision-making and demonstrate ROI to clients
  • Self-motivation, adaptability, and capability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal oversight
  • Consultative selling approach – you diagnose business problems and prescribe tailored solutions, not just pitch features



Preferred (But Not Required):

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Experience in consulting or working with industries such as Professional Services, Automotive, Manufacturing, Technology/SaaS, Education, or E-commerce
  • Existing network in target industries
  • Familiarity with HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms
  • Agency sales experience (marketing, advertising, consulting)

  • Guaranteed leads (you'll need to prospect and hustle)
