House Parent’s are responsible for taking care of residents at our Group Home. They implement residents daily activities, daily schedules, transportation, document any incidents and information that addresses the needs of the residents. You must be able to model what a structured but compassionate parent should look like, along with being a life-skills teacher and a role model for the residents to look up to. Must be able to work 7 full days on and off for 7 days. Shift change on Thursday at 11.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to demonstrate advanced leadership skills in working with children and coworkers.
- Reading, writing, and carrying out directions
- Promotes the development of life and academic skills to all youth in the home.
- Be responsible for timely and accurate communication within program (e.g. incident reports, verbal reports, shift documentation).
- Provides a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment for youth.
- Administering medication
- Provides transportation for residents to legal and medical appointments, activity outings, etc.
- Facilitate community and recreational outings, including transport
- Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities
