We are looking for a creative social media intern to work in our small mental health marketing team. The social media and communications intern is responsible for implementing the social media calendar created by the Social Media Manager, creating social media posts, and assisting the social media team with brainstorming information for target audience. The intern must have excellent knowledge of various social media platforms and good skills with grammar, spelling, and culturally appropriate terms. A good social media intern combines creative campaign ideas with analytical skills to create successful posts to spread the company’s message in the community. 


The IFC is a 5-month intern program that provides interns with practical experience working on creative projects that support the stigmatization of mental illness and promotion of therapy services offered to Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming. The organization provides a team environment with many different disciplines of mental health practice, specialty populations, and expertise. In this internship you will gain experience in the areas of public relations, marketing, communications with an emphasis on writing, photography, and graphics. At the conclusion of the internship, the intern delivers a formal presentation of their project work to demonstrate their ability for the employment role for IFC, Social Media Marketing & Communications Coordinator.


The Marketing, Social Media & Communications Intern will report directly to the Clinical Director and Social Media Content Manager for 10-12 hours per week with a combination of on site and remote at In Focus Counseling Lakewood, CO.


Please note that while this role is marketing & communications focused, it has a strong emphasis on written communications, therefore a writing sample may be required.
