Overview
The Finance Manager is responsible for the financial health of the organization. This position oversees end-to-end finance operations, balance sheet reconciliations, and looks for improvements to processes and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Implements financial and accounting best practices and oversees critical accounting procedures to ensure legal compliance.
- Drives the continuous improvement of the accounting practices.
- Prepares and posts monthly accounting entries.
- Prepares financial reports, statements, business activity reports, forecasts and other ad hoc reports..
- Plans budgets and monitors spending.
- Reviews financial reports, analyzes market trends, and calculates and files business income taxes.
- Ensures legal compliance requirements are met and monitors tax balances.
- Leads planning and forecasting activities with business partners and develops metrics to drive business performance.
- Provides insights and financial advice to executive management to help them make business decisions.
- Looks for ways to reduce costs, improve procedures and controls, and facilitate expansion, compliance, and scaling of the business.
- Completes any other tasks as assigned by management.
Required Education/Experience
- BA or BS in economics, finance, accounting, or related field required.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of management experience required, leading team of accounting personnel.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment highly preferred.
- Up to date Certified Public Accountant license preferred.
Competencies
- Strong technical accounting background in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience identifying and applying for manufacturing tax credits.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with various ERP systems, including identification and implementation of appropriate systems.
- Acceptable level of proficiency in communication to collaborate effectively with coworkers in various departments.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Must be a team player.
