Position: Special Assistant to the CEO (Intern)

Focus: Marketing, Media & Thought Leadership

Type: Internship (Part-Time)

Location: Hybrid - Virtual with one in-person meeting a week

Duration: 12 weeks

Compensation: $20/hr | 10-15hrs/week

Role Overview

The Special Assistant to the CEO will work to support podcast production, executive brand visibility, and outbound speaking and media opportunities. This role is ideal for a student or early-career professional interested in marketing, media, public relations, storytelling, and executive communications in a mission-driven environment.

The intern will help transform ideas into content, content into reach, and reach into real opportunities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Podcast Management & Production
  • Support end-to-end podcast operations (guest research, scheduling, prep)
  • Draft show notes, episode descriptions, and social captions
  • Identify and clip key moments for short-form content
  • Coordinate episode publication and distribution
  • Track basic podcast performance metrics
  • CEO Speaking & Executive Brand Management
  • Research and track speaking, panel, podcast, and media opportunities
  • Maintain a pipeline of outreach targets and submissions
  • Draft outreach emails, speaker pitches, and follow-ups
  • Keep speaker assets updated (bio, headshots, one-sheet, topic list)
  • Support presentation prep and storytelling alignment
  • Thought Leadership & Content Creation
  • Repurpose podcast and speaking content into:
  • LinkedIn posts
  • Blog or newsletter excerpts
  • Quote graphics or short insights
  • Maintain a simple content calendar aligned to key themes
  • Ensure consistent voice across platforms
  • Social Media & Digital Execution
  • Schedule content using provided tools
  • Monitor engagement and flag high-performing topics
  • Support light community engagement and tagging partners
  • Track KPIs across podcast, social, and speaking activity
  • Produce a short monthly insight summary
  • Recommend content or outreach optimizations


Skills & Qualifications

  • Interest in marketing, communications, PR, or media
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable researching and writing outreach emails
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (especially LinkedIn)
  • Experience with Canva, Notion, Google Workspace, or similar tools a plus
  • Interest in entrepreneurship, impact investing, or social innovation preferred

Role Requirements

  • Interested candidates must be able to commit to:
  • 10-15 Hours a week
  • 1 in-person/virtual meeting per week as determine


Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Media, or a related field.
  • Strong interest and desire to learn and grow in the field.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with marketing or financial tools (e.g., Canva, Constant Contact, CRM systems, or financial modeling software) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in marketing through previous internships, projects, or coursework.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tools and strategies (for marketing roles).
