Impact Learning & Development is a vibrant and collaborative pediatric clinic, specializing in multidisciplinary interventions for children with language, communication, and behavioral challenges. Our tailored interventions aim to address individual needs, reducing problematic behaviors and fostering skill development. We are currently looking for a dedicated Speech/Language Pathologist (SLP) to deliver focused behavioral interventions in our clinic or school settings for children aged 2-14 years.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will provide therapy for clients with various communication disorders, such as autism spectrum disorders (ASD), augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), fluency, literacy, pragmatic language (social skills), receptive and expressive language, and speech sound production.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Conducting evaluations, analyzing data, adjusting treatment plans, giving recommendations to parents or staff, and offering feeding/swallowing intervention.

- Implementing treatment plans with fidelity to help clients progress towards their long-term and short-term goals.

- Documenting clients' progress and performance, and communicating these updates to the team through written and verbal reports.

- Developing, adapting, and preparing lesson plans and materials tailored to each client's needs.

- Following behavior intervention strategies as directed by on-site BCBA's and BCaBA's.

- Maintaining a positive attitude to ensure client and team satisfaction, fostering a collaborative environment.

- Upholding Impact philosophies to boost teamwork and staff contentment, enhancing productivity.

- Attending all meetings and training sessions as required.

- Embracing feedback to enhance knowledge and skills.

- Safeguarding client confidentiality and complying with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Master's degree within the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders or related area of study. (Clinical Fellows welcome to apply)
  • Possess a valid South Dakota license as a Speech-Language Pathologist (or pursuing licensure)
  • Must be an energetic person who enjoys working with children.
  • Must have your own reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to lift and/or pull 50 pounds.
  • Must have full physical dexterity/agility or be able to independently position self and perform all movements required (bending, kneeling, computer/tablet typing, standing, running, crawling, sitting on the floor for periods of time).
  • Must have sufficient corrected or uncorrected vision and hearing to carry out all duties and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to pass a fingerprint, background clearance, and reference check.
  • Must be able to pass classes in and/or gain certification in crisis management, CPR, HIPAA, and mandated reporter (all trainings provided).
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Skills

  • One year of work experience as an SLP.
  • Prior positive interactions and experience working with the pediatric special needs population.
  • Completion of 40 Registered Behavior Technician training (may be provided by Impact, if needed)
