We're seeking a passionate, energetic, and empathetic High School Intern to join our inclusionary preschool. This role involves assisting our dedicated team of educators and therapists in creating an inclusive, stimulating, and safe learning environment for children with diverse abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with varying abilities.
- Provide comprehensive support to children in their daily learning journey, fostering a range of social, collaborative, and individual learning opportunities.
- Assist in preparing educational materials and creating a vibrant learning environment.
- Engage with children in a kind and respectful manner, promoting social and emotional development.
- Adhere to all safety and hygiene standards.
Qualifications:
- Current high school student with an interest in education, psychology, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage empathetically with children of diverse abilities.
- A positive attitude and a passion for encouraging inclusive education.
Note: This is a paid internship position ($12/hour). However, the experience gained will provide invaluable exposure to early childhood education and special education practices and could potentially lead to a Registered Behavior Technician position upon graduation.
