We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Autism Program Special Education Teacher to join our dedicated autism program at the elementary level. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive educational plan that caters to the diverse needs of students with autism spectrum disorders.


Position Type: Exempt/Salary

 

Hours:  


  • 200 day school year (additional days available if desired) 
  • Mondays - Friday, 7:30AM-3:30PM
  • May include occasional evenings and weekends as needed for school and marketing events

Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education and ABA therapy, with a focus on working with elementary-age students with autism. This role involves developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and providing direct instruction and support to students.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in both individual and group settings.
  • Utilize ABA therapy techniques to promote positive behavior and learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and behavior analysts, to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress and involve them in the educational process.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and IEP goals.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and ABA therapy.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Minimum of 3 successful years experience as a special education teacher
  • Knowledge and experience with ABA therapy techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
