The instructor supports the teacher in classroom management, applying Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and evidence-based teaching methods to provide direct instruction based on students' Individual Education Program (IEP) and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP). Collaborating with the teacher, curriculum specialist, school director, BCBA, and other personnel, instructors ensure student success. They actively engage in training, incorporating learned techniques into the classroom setting.
Position Type: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Hours:
- 194 day school year (additional days available if desired)
- Monday - Friday, 8:15am-2:45pm
- May include occasional evenings and weekends as needed for school and marketing events
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)
- Supports the teacher in classroom management for all students assigned.
- Execute direct instruction and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) as guided by the Teacher and BCBA.
- Support in gathering daily data on student progress
- Ensure continuous student supervision and prioritize safety at all times.
- Foster constructive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Work closely with teachers, curriculum specialists, and BCBA professionals to address challenging students.
- Attend and engage in the weekly staff meetings.
Requirements
Qualifications, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and/or RBT Certification a plus
