We're hiring a VP of Partnerships to build our commercial engine from the ground up, owning the full partnership lifecycle from prospecting to close to renewal. This is a high-impact executive role for a proven revenue driver who can close seven-figure deals, build a sales team, and sell a vision that's never existed before. You'll report directly to the CEO and play a direct role in shaping how the league grows commercially.

Summary

The VP of Partnerships will be a high-impact executive leader responsible for the strategic oversight and execution of IDL’s revenue engine. This role requires a powerhouse relationship-builder with a proven track record in high-stakes sales and client retention, specifically within the sports, media, or entertainment sectors. As a key driver of IDL’s commercial growth, the successful candidate will be instrumental in securing premier brand partnerships, optimizing long-term client satisfaction, and scaling the league’s market presence through sophisticated sales leadership. You'll report directly to the CEO and have a direct line to shaping how the league grows.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own the full partnership P&L, set targets, build pipeline, close deals, and hit numbers
  • Develop IDL's sponsorship packaging and go-to-market strategy, including naming rights, presenting sponsorships, activations, and media integrations
  • Build and manage a high-performing sales team from the ground up
  • Work cross-functionally with a lean team, you'll need to be a player-coach who can lead strategy and execute independently
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at agencies and brands
  • Hit and exceed revenue targets while building a scalable sales infrastructure
  • Represent the IDL at key industry events, league activations, and client meetings globally


Qualifications

  • 7+ years of sales experience, ideally in sports, entertainment, or media
  • A proven track record of closing six and seven-figure partnership deals
  • Strong existing relationships with brands and agencies across key verticals
  • A natural connector and storyteller who can sell a vision, not just a product
  • Experience building and leading high-performing sales teams
  • Deep understanding of the cultural landscape around sport, entertainment, and media 
  • A self-starter mentality with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, startup environment
  • Comfortable operating without a large support infrastructure; resourceful and solutions-oriented

Salary

$175,000 - $250,000 per year
