The Director of Partnerships will be IDL’s primary partnership seller in New York, owning a personal book of business while contributing to the league’s broader commercial strategy. This is a hands-on, quota-carrying role for a proven seller who knows the brand and agency landscape and is energized by the opportunity to build something from the ground up. You’ll report to the VP of Partnerships and work closely with a lean, high-velocity team.

Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a pipeline of brand and agency partners across key verticals, with a focus on the New York market
  • Execute the full sales cycle — prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and closing — with minimal hand-holding
  • Deliver against an annual revenue target with accountability for deal volume and contract value
  • Collaborate with the VP of Partnerships to refine sponsorship packaging, pricing, and go-to-market positioning
  • Manage partner relationships post-close including on-site hosting at IDL events and proactive client management to drive retention and renewals
  • Represent IDL at industry events, activations, and client meetings in New York and beyond
  • Contribute market intelligence and client feedback to inform league strategy


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of partnership sales or sponsorship experience, ideally in sports, entertainment, or media
  • Demonstrated track record closing five- and six-figure deals with brand marketers and agency buyers
  • Existing relationships with brands and agencies in the New York market
  • A sharp communicator who can sell a vision and translate it into a compelling commercial proposal
  • Comfortable operating in a startup environment: resourceful, self-directed, and adaptable
  • Disciplined approach to pipeline management
