The Medical Billing and Customer Relations Specialist (MBCRS) is a part of the Billing team in the Icarus Medical organization. The MBS is a key partner in the insurance billing process. From communication with patients and providers to reviewing documents for completeness and accuracy, Medical Billing Specialists are key in enabling our bracing to become a reality.


Who We Are Looking For

The MBCRS plays an important role in ensuring the speed and quality of service to our customers to maximize patient outcomes and assure affordable access to our product. They will be accountable for collection and submission of all required documents for timely insurance billing of medical device orders. Expectations include professional communication with care providers and patients to ensure accurate prescriptions and notes are obtained and relayed to the appropriate insurance company. The candidate should be capable of not only understanding relevant medical billing codes, but understanding how they apply to our products in order to insure successful billing of patient devices. 

Additionally, the role involves handling inbound inquiries about the product, ordering, delivery and billing. A passion for customer service and organization is a must.

What You Will Work On

You will work on ensuring that patient documentation is completed accurately and thoroughly for submission to medical insurance companies. You'll focus on communicating with care providers and patients to ensure accurate prescriptions and notes are provided to support Durable Medical Equipment (DME) coverage, fielding complaints from customers and initiating the company’s customer complaints procedure. You will partner closely with the sales team in order to assist them with the billing questions and processes as they apply to their customers. You will also handle inbound questions and if necessary refer them to the appropriate point of contact in sales, engineering or billing.

You will be working for the Customer Relations and Billing Manager and interacting closely with Sales department.

What You Bring

  • Experience in customer relations
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Medical Billing
  • Previous experience in Durable Medical Equipment (DME) billing (preferred)
  • Previous experience in maintaining HIPPA compliance and Medicare certified billing environments
  • Proficient problem solver with a highly developed ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Ensures accountability of oneself and others
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (required)
  • Strong time management and process management skills a must

$15 - $25 per hour
