Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of developers in designing, building, and maintaining custom applications and interfaces that support EHRM operations.
  • Define coding standards, enforce secure coding practices, and conduct peer reviews.
  • Oversee system integration and interoperability testing across VA and DoD systems.
  • Coordinate with enterprise architects, database administrators, and security analysts to align application design with enterprise requirements.
  • Ensure documentation, configuration management, and version control for all developed applications.
  • Provide technical mentoring and oversee knowledge transfer across the development team.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR) and secure coding practices.
  • Experience with full software development lifecycle (SDLC) in federal or healthcare environments.
  • Experience working with Cerner (Oracle Health) electronic health record solutions and prior involvement with the VA Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program is strongly preferred.

Deliverables:

  • The Lead shall deliver software development standards and secure coding guidelines for the team.
  • The Lead shall deliver developed and tested application modules that comply with VA TRM standards.
  • The Lead shall deliver peer review reports and quality assurance documentation.
  • The Lead shall deliver defect tracking and resolution reports at the application level.
  • The Lead shall deliver deployment readiness reports certifying applications for cutover and release.
  • The Lead shall deliver knowledge transfer and mentoring documentation for the development team.
  • The Lead shall deliver weekly status inputs summarizing progress, risks, and mitigations.

 

Clearance Requirement:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust / Moderate Risk clearance.

$138,000 - $178,000 per year
