Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, configure, and maintain custom application code using approved VA tools and frameworks.
  • Participate in unit testing, integration testing, and validation to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Support interface development and application integration efforts across VA and DoD systems.
  • Document application designs, updates, and user support procedures in VA repositories.
  • Resolve defects, perform debugging, and provide technical support during deployment.
  • Collaborate with senior developers, database architects, and security teams to align application

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of software development experience in a federal or healthcare IT environment.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or similar.
  • Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, and secure coding practices is preferred.
  • Experience working with Cerner (Oracle Health) electronic health record solutions and prior involvement with the VA Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program is strongly preferred.

 

Deliverables:

  • The Developer shall deliver developed and tested application code modules.
  • The Developer shall deliver unit test results and execution reports documenting validation.
  • The Developer shall deliver updates to the Requirements Traceability Matrix for assigned application requirements.
  • The Developer shall deliver defect resolution logs documenting issues and fixes.
  • The Developer shall deliver technical documentation and version-controlled code for knowledge transfer.
  • The Developer shall deliver integration test results supporting interoperability across VA and DoD systems.

Clearance Requirement:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust / Moderate Risk clearance.

Salary

$138,000 - $178,000 per year
