Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of the EHRM enterprise architecture to identify performance, scalability, and integration challenges.
- Develop architectural views and design documentation that accommodate both baseline configurations and site-specific requirements.
- Recommend and support the implementation of technology, data storage, and processing solutions to meet future scalability and performance needs.
- Ensure architecture designs align with VA enterprise standards, including compatibility with end-user devices, network capacity, and secure data handling.
- Lead design reviews that assess EHRM scalability, capacity, and performance, and verify alignment with program objectives and VA infrastructure.
- Guide integration efforts across clinical, administrative, and technical domains, ensuring interoperability with VA, DoD, and external systems.
- Support the use of open standards and common data models to improve data exchange and reduce deployment timelines.
- Document all architecture assessments and recommendations in the Enterprise Architecture Assessment Report and participate in technical governance forums.
- Implement and maintain configuration management and version control practices for architectural changes.
- Support continuous improvement through participation in technical forums and collaboration with VA, Oracle, and other partners.
Key Deliverables:
- Go/No-Go Readiness Checklists to guide decision-making prior to deployment.
- Detailed Deployment and Cutover Plans outlining the steps, responsibilities, and timelines for system rollout.
- Weekly Deployment Status Updates providing progress reports and identifying any risks or issues.
- Post-Go-Live Support Documentation to assist with stabilization and ongoing system maintenance.
- Lessons Learned Reports capturing insights and recommendations for improving future deployments.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in enterprise systems integration, architecture, or engineering in a large-scale federal healthcare or IT environment.
- Demonstrated experience with system architecture, network planning, and system interoperability, particularly with EHR systems.
- Familiarity with VA Office of Information and Technology (OIT) Systems Engineering Design Principles and Patterns.
- Strong understanding of open standards, common data models, and federal interoperability frameworks.
- Proven experience supporting integration between federal agencies and community care partners.
- Experience with configuration management and secure system development life cycles.
- Strong technical writing, documentation, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Oracle Health, VistA, or other federal EHR systems.
- Knowledge of VA enterprise architecture policies and standards.
- Prior work with DoD/VA joint healthcare initiatives or interoperability efforts.
Clearance Requirement:
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Tier 2 Moderate Risk (MBI) clearance.
