Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain software applications supporting EHRM requirements.
  • Configure, modify, and deploy application code in compliance with VA-approved standards.
  • Support interface management and system integration activities, including HL7/FHIR-based data exchange.
  • Ensure all software aligns with VA security standards, including encryption, patching, and secure coding practices.
  • Provide documentation, version control, and knowledge transfer in VA-approved repositories.
  • Participate in defect resolution, unit testing, and validation prior to deployment

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional programming experience (Java, C#, Python, or similar).
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR) preferred.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and VA or federal system environments a plus
  • Experience working with Cerner (Oracle Health) electronic health record solutions and prior involvement with the VA Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program is strongly preferred.

Deliverables:

  • The Programmer shall deliver developed and tested software modules, scripts, and interfaces using VA-approved tools.
  • The Programmer shall deliver unit test results and Testing Execution Reports validating functionality and documenting defect resolution.
  • The Programmer shall deliver updates to the Requirements Traceability Matrix with code-level requirements.
  • The Programmer shall deliver defect resolution logs tracking and documenting issue remediation.
  • The Programmer shall deliver technical documentation and version-controlled code as part of knowledge transfer.

Clearance Requirement:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust / Moderate Risk clearance.

$124,000 - $163,000 per year
