We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Inventory Associate to join the team at HYRBA's Outer Sunset location in San Francisco. As an Inventory Associate, you will maintain accurate inventory records, manage stock replenishment and rotation, and account for all products. You will work closely with the management team to ensure that all products are checked in, organized, stored, merchandised, and tracked accurately so that supply keeps pace with demand. You will also assist with product procurement, build productive brand relationships, and work directly with the Buyer to develop and curate an inventory of best-in-class cannabis products.

Inventory Associate (Outer Sunset, San Francisco)


As an Inventory Associate and Staff Lead, you will oversee and coordinate the work of a team of employees, ensure that all projects and tasks are completed on time and to the highest standard, and open and close the store as needed. You will manage schedules, provide guidance and support to team members, and collaborate with other departments to keep the business running smoothly. You must be able to solve problems, listen well, and communicate effectively with a variety of audiences. You will work directly with the HYRBA leadership team to meet financial forecasts and drive both short- and long-term company growth.

Job Duties:

  • Manage inventory by monitoring stock levels and tracking product usage.
  • Work closely with the store management team to ensure timely receipt of stock. Receive, check in, organize, store, and merchandise products.
  • Generate reports on inventory levels, stock movement, and product discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies regarding inventory management and control.
  • Maintain a clean, organized inventory room in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Perform regular audits of inventory records to verify accuracy.
  • Maintain invoice logs and current, accurate vendor records.
  • Maintain effective inventory controls to ensure first-in, first-out (FIFO) rotation and effective merchandising of products on the sales floor to preserve maximum quality and freshness.
  • Support Buyer with product procurement, developing productive brand relationships, and curating an inventory of best-in-class cannabis products.
  • Perform data analysis and forecasting to predict future inventory needs.
  • Coordinate with store management and staff to complete work efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, brands, and vendors.
  • Hold team members accountable to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Supervise employees in the absence of a manager, providing guidance, feedback, and support as needed.
  • Drive company programs by motivating and supporting the store management team and staff to develop and carry out plans that meet objectives.
  • Plan and communicate team responsibilities and delegate tasks to team members to keep store operations running smoothly.
  • Review the store environment and key business indicators to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead with integrity, honesty, and empathy.


Skills and Experience:

  • Three or more (3+) years of inventory management and/or retail sales experience, preferably in the cannabis industry or another high-volume retail environment.
  • Understanding of state and local laws and regulations as they pertain to inventory management and control.
  • In-depth knowledge of the cannabis industry, including strains, products, methods of consumption, and therapeutic uses of cannabis.
  • Familiarity with inventory management methods, software, and CRM tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team and to build relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Experience with cannabis retail POS systems; proficiency with Dutchie is a plus.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Strong operational skills in a customer-service-oriented environment.
  • High attention to detail, speed, and accuracy in all job functions.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Working knowledge of business processes and systems development.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Age: Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Travel: Occasional.
  • Schedule: This is a goal-oriented position with a high degree of accountability, and the schedule is determined by what is required to meet objectives. Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift and move boxes and materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, or sit for 8 or more hours.
