Huntersville Veterinary Clinic is a privately owned, single-doctor small animal practice offering routine preventive and sick care as well as surgical and dental services to dogs and cats. We’re a small, dedicated team committed to compassionate, low-stress patient care, client education, and strengthening the human-animal bond. Our modern clinic and Shepherd cloud-based medical records provide the tools needed to deliver excellent care, but our 5-star staff is the key to our success.
We’re looking for a registered veterinary technician who is compassionate, detail-oriented, flexible, and eager to contribute ideas and grow with our practice.
Schedule:
Approximately 40 hours/week
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 8 AM–5 PM
- Wednesday: 8 AM–12 PM
- No boarding, overnight hospitalization, or grooming
Responsibilities:
- Manage patient flow from check-in through discharge and maintain complete and accurate medical records.
- Obtain histories, vitals, samples, and diagnostic results; administer oral, IV, SQ, and IM medications and treatments as directed.
- Provide compassionate patient restraint, monitoring, and general care, including euthanasia support.
- Place IV catheters, perform venipuncture, intubate, induce, administer, and monitor anesthesia and recovery.
- Assist with surgery while maintaining sterile technique and surgical workflow.
- Perform dental radiographs, charting, scaling, and polishing.
- Perform in-house laboratory testing, radiographs, microscopy, and sample preparation.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients and coordinate referrals as needed.
- Maintain a clean, stocked, organized clinic and assist with inventory and occasional reception duties.
Requirements:
- Current NC Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license or eligibility for NC registration.
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to safely handle and restrain canine and feline patients.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance as needed and remain active throughout the workday, including standing, kneeling, and bending.
- Comfortable working around bodily fluids, sharps, anesthetic agents, medical gases, and veterinary chemicals.
- Ability to perform hands-on clinical procedures and wear required PPE/radiation protection.
Preferred:
Extensive experience with dental radiography, Shepherd software, inventory management, and fear-free/low-stress handling. Spanish fluency is a plus.
