Job Description: Licensed Optician (New Jersey)

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Licensed Optician to join our team in a private, high-end optometry practice. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert fitting and adjustments of eyeglasses for patients, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and comfort.
• Utilize office finishing skills to provide custom lens fabrication and quality control.
• Interpret prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists and recommend appropriate eyewear solutions.
• Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that suit their style, vision needs, and budget.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current optical trends and product offerings.
• Deliver superior customer service in a private, high-end optometry setting, ensuring a positive and professional experience for each patient.
• Educate patients on proper eyewear care and maintenance.
• Perform other optical duties as necessary, including dispensing glasses and lenses and managing inventory.

Qualifications:

• Valid New Jersey Optician’s License.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an opticianry role, with a focus on patient care and eyewear dispensing.
• Strong experience in office finishing techniques, with the ability to produce and customize lenses in-house.
• Proficiency with Vision Service Plan (VSP) and EyeMed insurance.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Work Schedule:

• 27-30 hours per week
• One evening shift (until 7 PM)
• One Saturday shift (until 1 PM)
