Position Summary
Hunt For Careers is partnering to find a strategic, experienced Director of Total Rewards to lead and elevate compensation, benefits, and recognition programs enterprise-wide. Reporting directly to the SVP of Human Resources, this newly created leadership role will build infrastructure and strategy to scale people programs with compliance, consistency, and care.
This role requires a leader who has worked in large corporate environments supporting 5,000–10,000 employees and ideally has experience in Real Estate, Healthcare, or Hospitality industries.
Key Responsibilities

Total Rewards Strategy: Develop and scale the total rewards philosophy focused on attraction, retention, and performance across all employee levels.

Compensation Leadership: Design and implement compensation programs including job leveling, salary benchmarking, merit planning, and incentive strategies. Partner with leadership to educate managers on pay-for-performance philosophies.

Benefits Management: Lead employee health, welfare, and wellness plan design and administration. Collaborate with brokers, carriers, and Finance on vendor management, billing, and compliance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Finance and Accounting to ensure accurate benefits billing, reconciliation, and audit-readiness.

Merit & Performance Cycles: Own annual compensation planning, merit increases, and bonus programs aligned with performance reviews.

Compliance & Governance: Ensure all rewards programs comply with federal/state regulations (FLSA, ACA, ERISA, FMLA, ADA).

Recognition Programs: Build and evolve employee recognition initiatives to strengthen culture and engagement.

HR Systems & Reporting: Utilize HRIS and benefits platforms for data accuracy, reporting, and process automation.

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of two professionals, fostering collaboration and high performance.
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred (High school diploma required minimum).
- Minimum 8 years progressive experience in total rewards, covering both compensation and benefits.
- Proven success in developing or revamping compensation structures, bonus plans, and salary benchmarking in large organizations (5k-10k employees).
- Experience in Real Estate, Healthcare, or Hospitality industries strongly preferred.
- Strong business acumen, emotional intelligence, and executive presence.
- Skilled in HRIS, payroll, and benefits administration platforms.
- Ability to thrive in fast-growing, evolving organizations with a strategic and collaborative mindset.
- Must reside or be willing to relocate to the Phoenix Metro area (Scottsdale, AZ).
- Ability to work hybrid schedule (onsite in Scottsdale and remote flexibility).
- Minimal travel required.
