This is a part-time non-exempt position. This position performs a variety of tasks related to Sponsorship sales and coordination related to the Humboldt County Fairground throughout the year.

About Humboldt County Fair Association

Since 1896 the Humboldt County Fair Association (HCFA) has held the annual Humboldt County Fair. The Association was formally established in December 26, 1924 as a California non-profit public benefit corporation. HCFA is governed by an eleven (11) member Board of Directors, the policy and financial policy making body for the Association, and they designate a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) responsible for implementing their direction and managing the Association's employees. The Association entered into an agreement with the County of Humboldt to manage the Humboldt County Fair and Event Center. The Association acts as the County's agent to operate and manage the Center. The Fairgrounds are located in the town of Ferndale and includes approximately 65-acres that houses exhibit buildings, livestock barns, a historic grandstand, a 1/2 mile dirt horse racing track, midway and carnival lots. Included on the property is a recreational vehicle park with 60 site hooks and dry campground facilities.

SPONSORSHIP SALES EXECUTIVE

This part-time, non-exempt position is responsible for driving sponsorship revenue for the Humboldt County Fair through year-round sales, relationship development, and account management. The Sponsorship Sales Executive cultivates and maintains partnerships with local and regional businesses, coordinates sponsor benefits and activations, and supports the planning and execution of the Fair’s annual Sponsorship Program and related events at the Fairgrounds.

This is a tiered, commission-based role designed to incentivize performance, with guaranteed minimum wage compliance and additional earning potential based on sponsorship sales.


SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED 

Receives direction from the Chief Executive Officer. No direct reports.

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES.  


Sponsorship Sales and Coordination 

Support the sale, execution, and activation of sponsorships and premium partnerships for the Humboldt County Fair and year-round events

Assist in developing and updating sponsorship sales materials, including proposals and presentation decks

Coordinate and fulfill sponsor deliverables, ensuring all contractual assets are executed accurately and on time

Serve as a point of contact for sponsors, maintaining positive relationships and supporting partner communications before, during, and after the Fair

Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, maintenance, and custodial staff, to coordinate sponsor activations, site logistics, and event setup/teardown

Support on-site sponsorship activations, hospitality, and partner experiences during the Fair and related events

Track and document sponsorship assets, contracts, insurance, and payments to ensure compliance and accurate reporting

Assist in preparing post-event sponsorship reports and recaps, including documentation of fulfilled benefits and activation outcomes

Support additional sponsorship sales and marketing initiatives as needed

$16.9 - $20 per hour
