CUSTODIAN I/II

The Custodial II position directly assists the Association’s Chief Executive Officer to ensure maintenance and cleaning of the Association’s facilities. This position performs variety of tasks related to various cleaning functions, including janitorial, sweeping, recycling and vacuuming and may operate a variety of equipment and tools related to the Humboldt County fairground’s property and buildings throughout the year.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
The Custodial I/II position reports to the Chief Executive Officer with administrative direction from the Association’s Office Manager. The Custodial II position exercises direct scheduling and supervision over seasonal custodial employees during the Annual County Fair.
The Custodial II position works closely with the C.E.O. in planning and preparation for the annual Humboldt County Fair, and other facility events, and day-to-day custodial service requirements throughout the year which include basic cleaning, ordering equipment and supplies and ensures restroom and kitchen facilities are properly stocked. The Custodial II position also assists in developing information for the annual operational budget.

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES.
⮚ Weekly Cleaning: Vacuum carpeted areas, dust mot and remove stains from floors, damp mop and buff all areas, empty waste baskets, replace liners and wash when necessary. Empty garbage and properly dispose of garbage into proper receptacles. Clean sinks, stoves, ovens, and other appliances in kitchen areas, spot clean windows, clean lobby doors, remove finger prints, smudges and dust from walls.
⮚ Clean Restrooms: Sweep, damp mop and remove stains from floors, clean mirrors, clean and dust stalls and doors; clean toilet bowls/urinals and wash basins; clean soap and paper dispensers, refill as needed; and clean plumbing fixtures and check for needed repairs.
⮚ Other Cleaning: Spot clean painted walls and clean counters. Buff floors, sweep steps and sidewalks. Dust woodwork, ledges, doors, trim and window sills, walls and baseboards. Damp wipe desks and file cabinets. Clean inside and outside windows.
⮚ Perform other duties as assigned.
