BAR COORDINATOR 

This is a Temporary non-exempt position, not to exceed 300 hours annually. The position is  responsible for determining and securing inventory, liquor license compliance, staff scheduling  and ensure staff follows proper alcohol distribution during the annual Humboldt County Fair.  This position provides excellent customer service for the Fair. 


SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED 

Bartender Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.  

Supervisors bartenders in various service locations.  


EXAMPLES OF TYPICAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Illustrative Only)

⮚ Determine and secure beer, liquor and wine inventory; maintain inventory and invoice records to provide to the C.E.O. 

⮚ Determine and secure ice, water, soda and food inventory; maintain inventory and invoice records to provide to the C.E.O. 

⮚ Take opening and closing daily inventory at each bar location; record and provide records to Fair Office. 

⮚ Ensure compliance with liquor license 

⮚ Schedule employees and maintain shift calendars to ensure sufficient bartenders during peak periods. 

⮚ Maintain and monitor cash drawer tills, including daily recording of starting and ending cash and POS receipts. 

⮚ Reconcile cash drawers at change of shift, record over/under amounts and address discrepancies and report to the C.E.O. or their designee. 

⮚ Coordinate Cash Drops with the C.E.O or their designee. 

⮚ Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.

⮚ Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers’ excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons. 

⮚ Ensure proper bar cleaning of utensils and bar equipment by bartenders.

⮚ Mixes and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to patrons of bar, following standard recipes 

⮚ Re-stock inventory as needed

⮚ Provide beer, wine, alcohol and other beverage inventory to the C.E.O at the end of the Fair. 

⮚ Other duties deemed necessary by Fair’s C.E.O. 


QUALIFICATIONS 

• Must be 21 Years of Age or Older 

• California alcohol server certification is required. 

• Ability to handle transactions quickly and accurately. 

• Previous bartending experience preferred 

• Ability to work independently 

• Ability to lift 40 lbs on own 

• Must be able to work flexible schedule especially weekend hours 


WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS 

The work environment is at Admission entrances. 

Will work in a fast-paced environment. 

Work may involve some exposure to weather conditions, dust, dirt, and exhaust fumes.

Ability to stay stationary, sit, and/or stand for extended periods. 

Works a flexible schedule including night, weekends, and holidays when necessary.


ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS 

Employees work in an bar environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature  conditions. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in  interpreting and enforcing Association policies and procedures. 



Salary

$16.5 - $20 per hour
