ADMISSION CASHIER I/II
This is a Temporary non-exempt position, not to exceed 200 hours annually. The position is responsible for welcoming guests and selling and/or scanning tickets for admission to the annual Humboldt County Fair. This position provides excellent customer service for the Fair.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Admission Cashier I/II report to the Association’s Admissions Coordinator. The Admission Cashier II position directly assists the Association’s Admissions Coordinator in the counting, reconciliation and preparation of daily bank deposits.

⮚ Greet guests in with a friendly and approachable attitude.
⮚ Responsible for selling and taking/scanning tickets for admissions to annual county fair. ⮚ Operate and a cash register and make change.
⮚ Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure amounts are correct.
⮚ Handle cash transactions efficiently and accurately.
⮚ Ensure compliance with all financial security requirements.
⮚ Monitors the admission of fair patrons, guests, staff, exhibitors and contractors for proper ticket or credential, before allowing them to enter.
⮚ Exercise good judgement and patience when dealing with guests.
⮚ Display a sense of urgency and professionalism at all times
⮚ Performs other related duties as assigned or requested when needed.

• Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Demonstrated experience in a cashier or financial role is beneficial.
• Superior numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
• Ability to handle transactions quickly and accurately.
• Strong integrity with the ability to handle money responsibly.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Must be able to quickly learn the layout of the fairgrounds and general fair information. • Ability to work cooperatively with team members and others.
WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
The work environment is at Admission entrances.
⮚ Will work in a fast-paced environment.
⮚ Work may involve some exposure to weather conditions, dust, dirt, and exhaust fumes. ⮚ Ability to stay stationary, sit, and/or stand for extended periods.
⮚ Repetitive motions when using ticket scanners.
⮚ Move supplies up to 20 pounds.
⮚ Works a flexible schedule including night, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing Association policies and procedures.
