We have an exciting job opening for a Part Time Housing Coordinator, who is resourceful, compassionate and able to provide critical support to individuals enrolled in the Housing Stabilization Services program across Minnesota.

Job Summary:

The Part-Time Housing Coordinator will provide essential support to individuals at risk of homelessness, experiencing housing instability, or transitioning to stable housing. This role involves direct client engagement, coordination with community resources, and guidance in navigating the housing system under Minnesota’s Housing Stabilization Services program.


This position supports individuals in Minnesota from our satellite office in Arizona. Join us in making a positive impact on the lives of individuals in Minnesota by supporting their journey to stable housing, all from our satellite office in Arizona!


Essential Functions: 

Housing Navigation:

Assist individuals in their transition to stable housing.

Support clients in completing housing applications and comprehending lease agreements.

Coordinate with landlords, property managers, and housing agencies to facilitate successful placements.


Client Support:

Provide direct support to clients facing housing challenges.

Identify and connect clients with community resources and services that promote housing stability.



Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with community stakeholders to enhance housing opportunities for individuals in need.

Stay informed about local housing resources and policies to effectively assist clients.



Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress, ensuring compliance with established metrics for documentation time tracking. Documentation should be equivalent to hours worked.

Prepare reports and documentation as required by the Housing Stabilization Services program.


Other duties as assigned.


Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education required.
  • 1-year previous experience in social work, human services, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in housing navigation, case management, or related services.



Knowledge/Skill/Ability:

  • Ability to multitask 
  • Generalized knowledge of Hud and Section 8 housing system, rental assistance programs, and homelessness prevention strategies.
  • Great communication abilities, including written and verbal communication.
  • Patience, empathy and professionalism.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry, website navigation and other software.
  • Effective time management, prioritization and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and provide culturally responsive service.
  • Knowledge of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and seniors in securing housing.
