Human Resource Management Services, LLC HR Business Partner Remote · Full time Company website

We’re looking for an experienced Michigan-based HR Business Partner who enjoys the variety of HR, likes solving problems, and wants to make a meaningful difference by working with multiple organizations. As an HR Business Partner, you’ll serve as a trusted HR resource for a portfolio of clients, helping leaders and managers navigate the day-to-day realities of managing people. Your work will include recruiting and onboarding, employee relations, performance management, leave administration, policies, compensation, benefits, compliance, HR records and systems, and more. This is a great opportunity for someone who has built a strong foundation as an HR generalist or business partner and is ready for something different: more variety, more autonomy, and exposure to multiple organizations, industries, leaders, and HR challenges.

Description

What You’ll Do

As an HR Business Partner, you’ll be the primary HR contact for assigned outsourcing clients. You’ll get to know their organizations, cultures, leaders, and priorities and provide practical HR support tailored to what they need.

  • Serve as a trusted HR partner to client leaders and managers.
  • Provide hands-on support with recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, corrective action, leaves and accommodations, policies, compensation, benefits, terminations, and HR documentation.
  • Translate employment laws and HR best practices into clear, practical guidance clients can actually use.
  • Draft and update job descriptions, policies, offer letters, employment agreements, disciplinary documentation, separation materials, employee communications, and other HR tools.
  • Work within a variety of HRIS and benefits systems and help clients create and maintain accurate, effective HR processes.
  • Conduct HR assessments, audits, and policy reviews to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Build trusted relationships while learning the unique culture and business priorities of each organization you support.
  • Collaborate with the HRM team when an issue requires specialized expertise, strategic consultation, or additional support.

Why HRM Services?

Variety. You won’t be doing the same thing every day. You’ll work with multiple clients and encounter different organizations, industries, people challenges, systems, and HR needs.

Meaningful work. Many of our clients rely on us as their HR partner. You’ll have the opportunity to help leaders make good people decisions and build stronger workplaces.

Autonomy with a team behind you. You’ll independently manage day-to-day client HR needs while collaborating with experienced HR professionals when an issue calls for additional expertise or a more strategic approach.

Flexibility. This is a remote position with periodic in-person meetings and client work primarily within Michigan.

Time to recharge. We believe great work and a full life can coexist, and we offer generous paid time off.

Competitive rewards. We offer a competitive salary, bonus opportunity, a 401(k) match, professional development support and a home office stipend.

Keep learning. You’ll continuously expand your HR knowledge through exposure to different clients, industries, HR systems, and workplace situations, while participating in HRM team professional development.

Who We’re Looking For

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Have 3–5 years of HR experience, ideally as an HR generalist or HR Business Partner.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field.
  • Have a SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent HR certification.
  • Are located in Michigan.
  • Have strong working knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance.
  • Can comfortably move between recruiting, employee relations, performance management, benefits, compensation, leave administration, compliance, and HR operations.
  • Are good with technology and have experience working with HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Are highly organized, responsive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Know how to navigate sensitive employee situations with good judgment and discretion.
  • Enjoy building relationships and turning complicated HR questions into practical solutions.

Experience supporting multiple organizations, business units, or clients is a plus, as is experience working with small to mid-sized organizations.

The Right Person for This Role

You don’t need someone standing over your shoulder to keep things moving. You take ownership, communicate well, follow through, and know when to ask for another perspective.

Most importantly, you like HR. You enjoy the mix of people, problem-solving, compliance, communication, and practical execution that comes with helping organizations manage their people well.

If the idea of supporting multiple organizations, tackling different HR challenges, and being part of a collaborative HR consulting team sounds exciting, we’d love to hear from you.
