About the Position

Hudson Engineering is seeking a Civil Engineer with a focus in Structural and/or Geotechnical Engineering to join our Hudson County office. Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:


  • Work directly under a Licensed Professional Engineer to gain experience in design concepts, analysis, and real-world applications.
  • Contribute to the preparation of design calculations, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Perform structural and geotechnical design tasks under supervision.
  • Conduct field inspections and collect data from active construction and project sites.
  • Build analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills through daily practice.
  • Pursue professional advancement through the EIT and PE licensure process and active participation in professional organizations.
  • Understand and assist with project scopes, budgets, deliverables, and schedules.
  • Support quality assurance and control procedures across project deliverables.
  • Perform other engineering duties as needed.


Requirements

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required)
  •  Master’s degree in Structural or Geotechnical Engineering (preferred)
  • 0–5 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Ability to travel to project sites and perform engineering-related fieldwork
  • Willingness to travel out of state for project work when required
  • Strong understanding of design principles, construction methods, and engineering documentation
  • Excellent communication and writing skills to clearly convey technical concepts and coordinate effectively with clients and other disciplines
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple projects efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in problem-solving and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all deliverables
