FLSA Classification: Exempt

General Classification: Salary, Full Time, Regular

Salary Range: Expected OTE range is $125,000–$180,000, depending on relevant experience.

About the Role

The Broker Channel Sales Professional is responsible for developing, managing, and growing the broker distribution channel for the Association Health Plan (AHP). This role exists to drive scalable growth by increasing broker engagement, quote activity, and quote‑to‑close performance. By providing consistent, proactive support to broker partners, this position unlocks a key growth channel.


This role reports to the VP, Benefits and plays a critical part in strengthening the organization’s market presence, expanding association membership, and delivering predictable, recurring premium revenue.


Key Responsibilities

Broker Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for broker partners.
  • Maintain consistent communication with active and high‑potential brokers.
  • Provide timely support, follow‑up, and guidance throughout the quoting and proposal process.
  • Build long‑term broker loyalty through responsiveness, education, and trust.

Broker Recruitment & Activation

  • Identify, recruit, and onboard new brokers in the target market, with an initial focus on Clark County.
  • Reactivate dormant or underperforming broker relationships.
  • Deliver onboarding, training, and plan education to improve broker confidence and plan adoption.

Sales Pipeline & Quote Growth

  • Increase broker‑generated quote volume through proactive outreach and structured account management.
  • Improve quote‑to‑close ratios by supporting brokers with plan positioning, competitive differentiation, and follow‑through.
  • Track and manage broker pipelines to ensure consistent progress toward closing opportunities.

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Gather feedback and insights from brokers on pricing, benefits, competitors, and market trends.
  • Share actionable insights with internal stakeholders to strengthen plan offerings and sales processes.

Collaboration & Channel Alignment

  • Partner across sales channels to support alignment and a clear, collaborative approach to business development.
  • Support cross‑functional alignment with marketing, operations, and underwriting (as applicable).


Qualifications & Competencies

Required:

  • 4+ years of sales, account management, business development representative experience in employee benefits, insurance, health plans, or a broker‑driven environment
  • Proven success working with independent brokers or distribution partners
  • Strong consultative selling, relationship management, and follow‑up skills
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and prioritize effectively
  • Active Health Insurance Producer License

Preferred:

  • Experience with association health plans or group health products
  • Understanding of small and mid‑sized employer markets
  • Familiarity with quoting systems and CRM tools
