Location: This position is remote and is open only to candidates who reside in Washington State.

FLSA Classification: Exempt

General Classification: Salary, Full Time, Regular

Salary Range: This position offers a combination of base salary and commission. Employees meeting target performance can expect total on-target earnings (OTE) of $110,000–$125,000 annually, depending on relevant experience and qualifications

About the Role

Th Account Executive is responsible for managing an existing portfolio of direct client accounts while selling our association-sponsored health trust products — including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability — to new group business.

The role is responsible for retaining and growing existing accounts while identifying, pursuing, and closing new group business. Working closely with our trade association partner and accelerator/incubator partners serving the technology industry, this position develops new group market opportunities while building and maintaining strong client relationships. Success in this role requires exceptional client service and retention, consultative sales skills, new business development, effective client onboarding, and disciplined follow-through and action planning.


This role partners closely with our Director of Broker Channel Sales, who leads our third-party broker distribution channel. While the two positions collaborate when customer accounts or opportunities overlap, this role is responsible for managing direct customer relationships throughout the entire sales lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day relationship for an existing portfolio of direct client accounts, serving as the primary point of contact for service, renewals, and plan questions.
  • Develop deep knowledge and understanding of our health trust programs; master the features, advantages, and benefits (FAB) of our full suite of Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability plans.
  • Partner with the underwriting team on quotes and RFPs for new business.
  • Create and present proposals to employer groups, monitoring and managing the sales process end to end.
  • Onboard new business.
  • Retain and grow existing group business at renewal.
  • Build and convert a new-business pipeline sourced from referrals through our trade association partner and accelerator/incubator partners.
  • Identify opportunities to increase profitability and drive revenue across the portfolio.
  • Represent the company at trade association and accelerator/incubator events to build and maintain referral relationships.
  • Develop and maintain proficiency in Salesforce for account and pipeline tracking.
  • Partner with the Broker Channel Manager on accounts or prospects that touch both the broker and direct channels.


Qualifications

Experience

  • 1–5 years of experience in the health insurance industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven success developing new business through prospecting, cold calling, and building relationships with decision-makers at small- to midsize companies and referral partners.
  • Ability to think strategically while executing effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.


Sales & Relationship Skills

  • Strong consultative selling, relationship-building, and account management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, manage multiple opportunities, and follow through to achieve results.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling health insurance through a producer/broker channel.
  • Experience working with technology companies, startups, or trade associations.
  • Based in the Puget Sound region is a plus for occasional in-person client and partner meetings; however, we welcome qualified remote candidates residing in Washington State.


Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.


Required License

An active Washington State Life and Disability Producer License, or the ability to obtain one as a condition of employment before independently performing the duties of the role.

Salary

$110,000 - $125,000 per year
