GENERAL INFORMATION

- Expected hours 6-10 hours a week* with no set days of the week
- Pay starts at $20 per hour
- This is a hybrid, part-time position where many of your responsibilities can be done remotely
- This is a contracted/1099 position

OVERALL GOAL
As the events manager, you will spearhead our event marketing efforts in and around Charlotte, North Carolina, and online. You play a pivotal role in growing our presence across the region.
While much of the background work for the position can be done remotely, this is a hands-on role where you will spend significant time working at events, engaging with customers, and ensuring our workshops and booths deliver maximum impact.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive high-quality lead generation
- Obtain promotional and marketing material at social events to be used across various channels, including social media, our website, and traditional media
- Distribute marketing materials as provided
- Engage with the community to inform them of upcoming events and workshops
- Plan, coordinate, and execute weekly in-house creative workshops
- Be present for creative workshops, 1-3 per week
- Manage event logistics
- Coordinate day of event logistics with other staff and external workshop leaders/educators as needed
- Develop workshop ideas based on community needs and desires
- Identify and attend outdoor/indoor markets (expect one to two events per month). Please note that most markets take place on the weekend (Saturday or Sunday)
- Manage booth operations as needed (events last 4-8 hours)
- Identify markets based on an assessment of past attendees and their significance to the products we sell
- Assist with setting up and taking down booth materials
- Environmental factors for market events vary by location. You may be working in both inside and outside weather conditions. Exposure to varying climates, including extreme cold or heat, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions, is possible. You may be exposed to constant or intermittent noises in addition to moving or shaking objects and equipment during these events.

- Collaborate closely with the marketing and sales teams to align event objectives with overall company growth goals
- Track pertinent information about the number of attendees per event
- Community Marketing Tracking (sent in weekly)
- Date, time stamp, and location of marketing
- Communication log for the day
- How events were communicated i.e. - Word of mouth, flyers were left (approximately how many & where)
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in event management, marketing, or related fields (at least 1-5 years)
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills with a passion for excellent execution
- Leadership abilities to inspire and drive a team
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- A goal-oriented mindset with a focus on lead generation and ROI
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel regularly as required for events**
- Excellent communication skills and creative thinking abilities
- The ability to work independently and manage projects with many moving parts
- Adaptability and flexibility to juggle multiple projects at once
- The ability to lift objects of at least 40 pounds
- The ability to stand for long periods of time (2-3 hours) in one setting
- Great interpersonal skills and the desire to genuinely connect with customers and the community you serve

**Travel will require distances no further than 60 minutes
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL WEEK LOOK LIKE?
- Day of the event (3-4 hours)
5 PM - Prep/set up for the day's event/workshop
5:30 PM -7:30 PM - Event starts/stops
7:30 -8 PM - Clean up
- Three to four hours may be spent marketing an upcoming event and/or engaging the community
- 3 to 4 hours may be spent prepping for an event in the upcoming week (in-house and remote)
WHAT YOU ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR
- The creation of promotional materials
- The posting of social media/marketing materials online
- Creation and upkeep of social media pages
