## About Honey Mental Health
Honey Mental Health provides emotionally intelligent mental health care for the complicated work of being human.
We provide therapy, psychiatry, groups, complimentary alternative medicine, and educational programming for adults, parents, teens, couples, and families throughout Michigan and Ohio.
At Honey, our team is focused on providing exceptional clinical care and is supported through consultation, collaboration, continuing education, specialty development, and a connected clinical community. We want our clinicians to deepen their skills, develop areas of specialty, and build careers they are proud of.
We also believe a strong clinical team should reflect the complexity of the people and communities we serve. We strongly encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds, identities, cultures, life experiences, life stages, and professional journeys.
At Honey, we are building a place where both clients and clinicians can grow—and where thoughtful, emotionally intelligent care is at the center of everything we do.
Full-Time | W-2 | Ferndale, Michigan
Honey Mental Health is seeking fully licensed LMSW and LPC therapists who want to do excellent clinical work while being part of a connected, collaborative team.
We are looking for thoughtful, experienced clinicians who value relationships—not only with their clients, but with the people they work alongside.
At Honey, you have colleagues to consult with, a multidisciplinary team around you, leadership that is accessible, opportunities to keep learning, and the infrastructure and benefits of W-2 employment.
We want Honey to be more than the place where you see clients.
We want it to be your professional home.
Our therapists work primarily with adults navigating the complicated work of real life: anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, grief, parenthood, ADHD, burnout, identity, reproductive and perinatal mental health, and major life transitions.
We are interested in excellent general clinicians as well as therapists who have developed—or want to continue developing—areas of specialty.
Your individual caseload will be the foundation of your work at Honey, with opportunities to participate in groups, workshops, specialty programming, consultation, and continued professional development.
• Build and maintain a full-time therapy caseload
• Provide individual psychotherapy primarily to adults
• Complete assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical documentation
• Provide ethical, thoughtful, evidence-informed care
• Participate in clinical consultation and case collaboration
• Collaborate with Honey's therapy, psychiatry, and leadership teams
• Participate in team meetings and our collaborative office culture
• Continue developing areas of clinical expertise
• Have opportunities to develop or facilitate groups, workshops, and specialty programming
You do not need to specialize in all—or even several—of these areas.
We are looking for clinicians who bring strong general clinical skills along with areas of genuine interest or expertise, including:
• Anxiety & Depression
• Trauma, PTSD & EMDR
• Internal Family Systems (IFS)
• ADHD & Neurodiversity
• Grief & Loss
• Relationships
• Perinatal & Reproductive Mental Health
• Parenthood
• Women's Mental Health
• Men's Mental Health
• Burnout & Stress
• Life Transitions
• Young Adults
• Multicultural Counseling
Have a specialty we haven't listed? We want to hear about it.
Being a therapist can be incredibly meaningful work. It can also be isolating.
We have intentionally built Honey differently.
Our clinicians have people to talk to. Cases to consult about. Colleagues who know one another. A leadership team that is present. Opportunities to learn, develop specialties, create new programming, and grow over time.
And behind the clinical work is an established team handling the infrastructure that keeps the practice moving.
Honey provides:
• In-house billing and credentialing
• Administrative support
• Client referral and marketing support
• Established insurance contracts
• Furnished office space
• Clinical consultation and case collaboration
• Continuing education support
• Specialty development opportunities
• An established clinical and leadership team
• A connected professional community
You don't have to build your career alone.
This is a full-time W-2 employee position.
Benefits include:
• Competitive percentage-based compensation
• Health, dental, and vision insurance package for qualifying full-time clinicians
• PTO accrual
• Access to 401(k) retirement plan
• Continuing education funds and opportunities
• In-house credentialing and billing
• Administrative support
• Marketing and referral support
• Maternity leave
• Bereavement leave
• Specialty development opportunities
• Leadership and professional growth opportunities
• Collaborative team culture
• In-person office culture
Our strongest clinicians tend to be:
• Warm, thoughtful, and emotionally mature
• Clinically curious
• Collaborative rather than isolated
• Growth-oriented rather than perfectionistic
• Comfortable asking questions and consulting with colleagues
• Invested in continued learning
• Interested in developing meaningful areas of expertise
• Interested in being part of a team and contributing to its culture
• Looking for a long-term professional home
Clinical skill matters to us.
So does the person you bring into the room.
We value different perspectives, backgrounds, cultures, identities, life experiences, life stages, and professional paths. We strongly encourage clinicians who will broaden the experiences and perspectives represented on our team to apply.
• Active, independent Michigan LMSW or LPC license
• Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field
• Experience providing outpatient psychotherapy
• Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills
• Ability to independently manage an outpatient caseload
• Commitment to ethical, compassionate, evidence-informed care
• Interest in full-time, long-term employment
• Willingness to participate in team collaboration and consultation
Additional training or certification in a specialty modality is welcomed but not required.
This position is intended for a clinician seeking a long-term, full-time career at Honey.
We provide referrals, marketing, insurance contracts, billing, credentialing, administrative infrastructure, and clinical support to help our therapists build and maintain successful caseloads.
We also want clinicians to keep growing.
As Honey grows, opportunities may include:
• Developing a recognized specialty within the practice
• Creating and facilitating groups
• Developing workshops and educational programming
• Building community referral relationships
• Mentoring other clinicians
• Clinical leadership opportunities
• Helping shape new programs and services
We want Honey to be a place where you can imagine yourself several years from now—not simply your next job.
