Summary

The Senior Billing Specialist owns the IML division's billing process end to end. That covers entering shipper Bill of Lading (BOL) data into Truckmate, creating delivery receipts (D/Rs), and producing, printing, auditing, and troubleshooting customer invoices. The role works closely with Sales, IT, Pricing, Collections, and Customer Service to resolve billing issues.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Enter and verify shipper BOL data in Truckmate; rate shipments and confirm credit terms as freight bills are created
• Approve, post, and print all invoices; research and resolve billing issues through to correction
• Scan, match, and file supporting paperwork to the correct backup bill in the Synergize imaging system
• Audit and validate the billing work of the offshore team
• Partner with Sales, Collections, IT, and Pricing on invoice setup, rebills, customer inquiries, and rates
• Support Customer Service with quotes, pickups, and authorization request emails

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 3 years of billing or related industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Skills

• High-volume, accurate data entry. About 95% of the role is spent working in Truckmate and Synergize.
• Ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages, and to apply basic algebra and geometry

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Operates standard office equipment, including phone, computer, fax, and copier

There are a few things worth confirming with the client:

• Truckmate experience: It isn't listed as required or preferred, but it's probably the biggest screening lever. Prior Truckmate or TMS experience would shorten ramp-up a lot.
• Industry: Trucking, intermodal, or freight billing experience isn't called out explicitly, but "related industry" almost certainly means that.
• Offshore oversight: Auditing the offshore team's work suggests this is a lead or quality-control role. If that's right, a line about prior QA or team-lead experience would help attract the right level.
• Math line: The area/circumference/volume wording is standard boilerplate. Unless dimensional or cube rating is part of the job, it could be cut.
