The Role
We’re looking for a PHP Developer with at least 5 years of web application development experience to join our engineering team. This is an evergreen contractor position with a clear path to full-time hire for the right candidate.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional web application development experience
- Proficiency in PHP and JavaScript, with hands-on experience in Laravel, Drupal, React, and Vue.js; WordPress experience is a plus
- Familiarity with macOS development environments and comfort with Linux, Git, and Agile methodologies
- Solid understanding of MVC, OOP, FRP, and RESTful web service patterns
- Experience working with relational databases, preferably SQL and MySQL
- Practical experience with Lando and/or Docker-based development environments
- Strong problem-solving skills with a positive, versatile attitude
- Ability to work independently and take personal ownership of your work
Responsibilities
- Write clean, high-quality code across multiple technology stacks and projects
- Take full ownership of feature development on assigned projects
- Prioritize and resolve bugs efficiently to keep clients moving
- Keep the engineering team and clients informed of development progress
- Collaborate with fellow engineers to design and build new features and solutions
- Bring creative, pragmatic thinking to engineering challenges
- Partner with team managers on sprint priorities and your own professional growth
- Help foster a culture of quality, collaboration, and technical leadership
Interview Process
This position starts as a contractor role with the potential for permanent hire. Our interview process includes a Technical Skills Assessment followed by two interviews before any offer is extended.
