Hello Neighbor offers a robust internship program across multiple departments within the organization. All interns are expected to:
1. National Network Internship
Duration : Fall 2026-Spring 2027 (Anticipated start date: Sept 15th 2026 end date: April 30th 2027)
The National Network Intern will play a valuable role in supporting the growth and coordination of the Hello Neighbor Network - a national coalition of grassroots, community-based nonprofits that serve refugee and immigrant communities. The Network brings together like-minded leaders from small- to mid-sized organizations to share best practices, strengthen their leadership, and scale their impact.
The Network team also leads Hello Neighbor’s volunteer engagement efforts, helping connect community members with meaningful opportunities to support refugees and immigrants locally.
This internship is ideal for someone passionate about nonprofit leadership, volunteer engagement, social impact, and refugee and immigrant inclusion. The intern will gain hands-on experience supporting national programs, grantmaking, peer learning initiatives, and volunteer engagement while contributing to meaningful change at both the national and community levels.

2. Arrival & Integration Internship
Duration : Fall 2026 only (Anticipated start date: Sept 15th 2026 end date: Dec 15th 2026) with the possibility of an extension pending confirmation of additional funding.
The Arrival & Integration Intern will work with the Arrival & Integration Case Manager to provide services to newly arrived refugees or program enrollees that require specific case management assistance. Responsibilities include housing setups, community resource connection, database management, and relaying valuable information to clients. This role offers meaningful hands-on experience and the opportunity to make a positive impact. Requirements include strong communication skills, the ability to navigate cross-cultural sex/gender norms in an intentionally empathetic manner, willingness to work with interpretation.
Reports to: Arrival & Integration Manager
Here are some tasks you may be assigned:
● Housing Setups, including organizing and transporting household goods, some furniture setup, ordering needed items
● Entering/updating information across multiple databases as well as file management
● Transferring utilities and CAP enrollment
● Communicating with clients utilizing interpretation

3. Marketing Internship
Duration : Fall 2026-Spring 2027 (Anticipated start date: Sept 15th 2026 end date: April 30th 2027)
Reports to: Marketing and Communications Manager
Hello Neighbor is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Intern to support our Development team. This role provides hands-on experience in content creation, social media management, and event support, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to Hello Neighbor’s mission while building professional skills in nonprofit marketing.
As a Marketing Intern, you will assist with the development and distribution of marketing materials, support social media and digital campaigns, and help coordinate logistics for events and campaigns that engage our community and donors.
Reports To: Marketing and Communications Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Content & Marketing Support
Assist with drafting, scheduling, and posting content for social media platforms.
Support the creation and distribution of email newsletters and other digital communications.
Help maintain marketing materials inventory, including ordering and picking up materials as needed.
Assist with updating and organizing digital content libraries, including photos and videos.
Event Support
Provide support for community gatherings, donor events, and fundraising galas.
Assist with event logistics, including setup, registration, and materials preparation.
Help manage communications related to events, including RSVPs and follow-up.
Collaboration & Administrative Tasks
Work with internal teams and contractors to complete projects on time.
Respond to basic content and communication requests across departments.
Participate in meetings, take notes, and support administrative tasks as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
Basic familiarity with social media platforms and content scheduling tools (e.g., Canva, Mailchimp, Hootsuite).
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
Positive, proactive attitude with strong interpersonal skills.

4. Smart Start Internship
Duration : Fall 2026-Spring 2027 (Anticipated start date: Sept 15th 2026 end date: April 30th 2027)
The Smart Start intern will work with the Perinatal Case Manager to provide perinatal case management support to pregnant immigrants and refugees. Responsibilities include pregnancy appointment accompaniment, WIC training, resource identification, advocacy, and perinatal education with a cultural lens.
This role offers meaningful hands-on experience and the opportunity to make a positive impact.
Reports To: Perinatal Case Manager
Requirements:
include strong communication skills, having comfort in birthing spaces, and the ability to navigate cross-
cultural sex/gender norms in an intentionally empathetic manner. Personal vehicles are helpful but public
transportation access, at minimum, is required. Minimum of 16 hours/week.

5. Education and Access Internship
Duration : Fall 2026-Spring 2027 (Anticipated start date: Sept 15th 2026 end date: April 30th 2027)
Reports To: Youth Education Manager
The Education and Access Intern will play an active role in supporting programs that serve Hello Neighbor’s clients through youth tutoring, mentoring, early childhood education, English language learning, and other community initiatives. Working alongside program staff, the intern will help with activities, connect clients with community resources, and communicate with families. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, culturally responsive, and passionate about fostering welcoming and inclusive communities.
Some tasks that may be assigned include:
Communicating with clients through email, phone calls, and text messages.
Collecting and organizing program data.
Developing and editing program materials.
Assisting with the planning and coordination of community events and activities.
Organizing and sorting physical and digital program materials and supplies.
6. Employment Internship
Duration : Fall 2026 only (Anticipated start date: Sept 15th 2026 end date:Dec 15th 2026) with the possibility of an extension pending confirmation of additional funding.
This internship participates in our Employment programs through administrative
and programming support, as well as through some direct client services (dependent on
experience). Training is provided.
Here are some examples of tasks you may be assigned:
Help create / revise programming
Help with program logistics (set up, outreach, coordinating transportation, creating flyers)
Help with filing / organizing case notes and other documentation
Help with communications, reminders, and organization
Compile a weekly list of entry-level employment opportunities
Call employers to inquire about job requirements
Receive training and experience working with interpretation services
Possibly help orchestrate hiring event
Outcome:
Gain practical experience supporting employment services for immigrants and refugees through administrative and programmatic tasks.
Assist in developing and revising workforce programming while coordinating logistics for
employment events and outreach.
Strengthen organizational skills through documentation, case management, and communication with clients and employers.
Build knowledge of local job markets and employer requirements by compiling opportunities and conducting outreach calls.
Develop teamwork, cross-cultural communication, and client support skills, including working with interpretation services.
