Mainland is seeking an Digital Marketing Specialist who has experience and understanding with building a digital presence. The ideal candidate is someone who will be excited by a fast-paced startup culture and are not afraid of ambiguity. 

This position will be responsible for day-to-day management of digital services (ads, social, email) projects and programs, including project planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and vendor management. 

Reporting to the Vice President of Delivery, you will partner closely with team members to ensure that we are delivering high-quality digital experiences for our clients, as well as our own brands. Success in this role requires the ability to support a performance-based mindset. 

You can expect to:

  • Focus on managing, implementing and optimizing Google PPC/Search Ads, LinkedIn Advertising and Facebook Ads
  • Retargeting Set-up and Management
  • Managing and monitoring Email Newsletters (ie: MailChimp)
  • Social Media Management (YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc) for 3-4 clients
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of all projects and initiatives, while monitoring and controlling agency and client advertising spend 
  • Manage our ad presence on social media platforms
  • Actively contribute to the growth of the Mainland’s service offerings

Basic Qualifications:

  • Project Management, Program Management, and Product Management skills
  • Website management (managing team & ability to edit)
  • Coordinate digital ads (Google, LinkedIn, Facebook)
  • Coordinate social media
  • Ability to execute ad plans
  • Experience in working with different ad vendors
  • Familiarity with content marketing and/or digital marketing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's degree in related field

Bonus points if you have hands-on experience with:

  • Content Publishing platforms
  • Website Development 
  • Graphic Design
  • Setting up and troubleshooting attribution and conversion tracking
  • Client Relationship Management
  • SEO


  • This is a Hybrid position, with 2 days a week in the Chicago office. Some travel may be required 
  • Standard hours are 8:30 to 5:30 CST
  • Because of the confidential nature of our client work, this is not a job that should be done from a public location 
  • Employees are expected to have a dedicated work area that is free from distractions and an ability to commit to their job in its entirety the entire time working
  • Time tracking is required

  • We pay 75% of a high-quality national PPO insurance plan plus offer voluntary dental and vision.
  • We also match the first 1% of a 401K plus 50% of the next 5%.
  • Professional Paid Time Off is given after 90 days of full-time employment (the first 90 days’ time off is unpaid), plus we have a paid holiday schedule. Professional Paid Time Off allows for open ended PTO opportunities, as long as outcomes and overall agency resource needs are met.
