Services include:
- health screenings - blood pressure, finger stick cholesterol, height, and weight, and provide educational information on screening outcomes and next steps
- health educators – staff displays at health fairs and other health promotion events
Schedules vary depending on events and staffing needs. Screeners will have the option to work a variety of shifts, including early morning shifts. Occasional overnight shifts are also possible and some travel may be requested.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing excellent customer service to our clients
- Demonstrating both professionalism and relational skill that makes participants feel welcome and safe
- Performing and recording biometric testing results including, but not limited to height, weight, blood pressure, BMI and finger-poke blood draws
- Reviewing results with individuals, providing coaching and offering resources to make healthy lifestyle changes
- Assisting team in setting up and tearing down work stations, which may include lifting 10-20 lbs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four-year degree in a health-related field such as nursing, exercise science, community health, or nutrition
- Current CPR certification
- Ability and willingness to work early mornings
- Knowledge of the fundamental principles of physical activity and nutrition and how they impact overall health
- Outstanding customer service skills; professional appearance and demeanor
- Drive and maturity to be dependable, punctual, and responsible
- Excellent verbal skills, with the ability to relate to and communicate with a wide range of individuals
- Strong attention to detail while working in a fast-paced setting
- Reliable transportation
- Preferred: two years’ experience of Health Screening or Phlebotomy experience
