Healing Roots Counseling is a warm, collaborative, and growing practice dedicated to promoting work-life balance while delivering high-quality, compassionate care. We are currently seeking a skilled and empathetic Mental Health Counselor to provide therapy to individuals, couples, and/or families across a range of ages and presenting concerns. As part of our team, you will receive weekly supervision to support your path toward licensure. This position is structured around a flexible 35-hour work week. Responsibilities:


  • Conduct Assessments: Evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health through various assessment tools.
  • Develop Treatment Plans: Collaborate with clients to create individualized treatment plans that address their specific needs and goals.
  • Provide Therapy: Offer individual, couple and family therapy sessions using evidence-based techniques.
  • Monitor Progress: Regularly review clients’ progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure effectiveness.
  • Collaborate: Coordinate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists and social workers, to provide holistic care for clients.
  • Educate: Inform clients about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies to empower them in their journey towards mental wellness.


Qualifications:


  • Education: A master’s degree in mental health counseling, clinical psychology, or a related field required.
  • Skills: Exceptional communication, empathy, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a counseling or therapy role is highly preferred, particularly with diverse populations.


Licensure:


  • State licensure as an LMSW, LMHC, or related credential is required.


Work Location:


  • Office location in Albany NY, with the possibility of hybrid environment.


Schedule:


  • Flexible 4-5 day workweek, typically around 35 hours a week.

Salary

$56,000 - $62,000 per year
