Job Title: Behavioral Health Consultant

Position Summary

The Behavioral Health Consultant provides clinical expertise, consultation, and support to individuals, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote mental health, emotional well-being, and integrated care. This role focuses on assessment, brief interventions, care coordination, and consultation to enhance outcomes for clients served by Healing Hands. The Behavioral Health Consultant works collaboratively with medical providers, case managers, and community partners to address behavioral health needs in a holistic and culturally responsive manner.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Consultation & Assessment

  • Provide behavioral health assessments, screenings, and clinical consultations
  • Offer guidance to staff and care teams regarding mental health needs, interventions, and best practices
  • Identify behavioral health concerns and recommend appropriate treatment or referrals


Brief Interventions & Support

  • Deliver short-term, evidence-based interventions and psychoeducation
  • Support crisis intervention and stabilization as needed
  • Promote coping skills, resilience, and wellness strategies


Care Coordination & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with case managers, medical providers, and community partners to support integrated care
  • Assist with care planning and coordination of behavioral health services
  • Facilitate warm handoffs and referrals to internal or external behavioral health resources


Training & Capacity Building

  • Provide training, consultation, and technical assistance to staff on behavioral health topics
  • Support trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and client-centered practices
  • Contribute to program development and improvement efforts


Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
  • Ensure services comply with ethical standards, licensing requirements, and organizational policies
  • Participate in quality assurance and outcome evaluation activities


Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field
  • Active licensure or license-eligible status (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LPCC, or equivalent, per state requirements)
  • 3+ years of experience providing behavioral health services in clinical or community-based settings
