Texas Family Portraits—the sister company of the well-established Hawaii Family Portraits—is expanding into the Houston market, starting with Galveston beach portrait sessions. We’re hiring our first team member to help build the foundation of our Texas presence. We are looking for a talented Photographer with strong people skills and a passion for helping families capture meaningful moments. This is a hybrid role combining photography and doing all necessary tasks required of building a business.

This is a unique opportunity to get on the ground level of a start-up business. This role will start with, to be frank, terrible pay. Your compensation will be almost entirely performance-based through commissions and profit sharing. It's an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to grow into and truly earn a leadership role.

🌅 What You’ll Do

📸 On-Location Photography

• Photograph family portraits as needed at beaches, parks, and scenic Houston spots (typically during golden hour AM & PM).
• Deliver fun, relaxed, and high-quality sessions for couples, families, and kids.
• Edit images in Adobe Lightroom Classic to meet our visual standards.
• Maintain your gear and manage files after each session.

📞 Client Consultations & Booking

• Respond to new leads quickly (within minutes / not hours) and follow up via phone, text, & email.
• Conduct friendly consultations to guide clients through the sales process.
• Book sessions and manage client communications through our CRM system.

🌱 Business Growth & Leadership

• Collaborate with leadership on marketing & sales efforts.
• Social Content creation.
• Build a rockstar team using the principles of Document, Do, Demonstrate, Delegate.
• Operate the business with a sense of ownership.
• Profit Sharing. (Not equity)

🎯 We’re Looking For Someone Who Is:

• Experienced in portrait or lifestyle photography (outdoor, natural light preferred).
• Skilled in Adobe Lightroom Classic.
• Intuitive with technology.
• Friendly, professional, and confident on the phone and in person.
• Comfortable working outdoors in beach weather.
• Prompt, detail-oriented, and organized with follow-ups and file management.
• Excited to grow with a small company and take on new responsibilities.
• Based within a reasonable commute to Galveston, TX, and has reliable transportation.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs (camera gear, pop-up print setups, etc.).

💵 Compensation & Perks

• Hourly Base Pay + sales commissions, tips, and profit share bonuses
• Schedule: up to 40hrs/week, including evenings and weekends (This will start slow and build towards 40hrs as we grow)
• Work outdoors in some of the most beautiful locations in Texas!
