Harvest Point Academy is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Summer Camp Volunteers to assist with the camp’s daily operations, activities, and supervision. Volunteers will work closely with camp staff to help create a fun, safe, and Christ-centered experience for campers. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop leadership skills, serve others, and grow spiritually in a supportive, faith-based environment. All volunteers will be required to undergo a background check to ensure the safety and well-being of all campers.

Description

Key Responsibilities:


Camp Activity Support

  • Assist with planning, organizing, and leading faith-based camp activities, such as arts and crafts, outdoor games, music, and Bible study.
  • Supervise campers during structured activities and unstructured free time to ensure they are safe and engaged.
  • Assist with classroom management or group activities, ensuring that campers stay on task and have fun.
  • Help set up and clean up for activities, keeping camp areas organized and ready for use. 

Faith-Based Engagement & Mentorship

  • Participate in devotionals, prayer time, and Bible-based discussions, helping to lead and encourage spiritual growth in campers.
  • Model Christian behavior, demonstrating kindness, patience, and servant leadership throughout the camp day.
  • Assist in leading small groups in Bible studies, prayers, or worship activities, fostering a faith-centered atmosphere. 

Camper Supervision & Safety

  • Help with camper check-in/check-out, ensuring that children are safely dropped off and picked up by authorized individuals.
  • Monitor campers during meals, breaks, and outdoor activities, maintaining a safe and respectful environment at all times.
  • Assist with behavior management and resolving conflicts among campers, always upholding Christian values. 

General Camp Operations & Support

  • Provide administrative support such as maintaining attendance records, assisting with camp rosters, or helping with other paperwork as needed.
  • Assist with organizing and preparing for special events, field trips, or themed days.
  • Offer additional help as directed by camp staff and directors, contributing to a smooth and enjoyable camp experience for all. 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Must be at least 13 years old (younger volunteers may be accepted with parental consent).
  • Strong interest in working with children and contributing to a faith-based environment.
  • A desire to serve others and help create a positive, Christ-centered experience for campers.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow direction from camp leaders and staff.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to engage with both campers and fellow volunteers.
  • Demonstrated reliability, responsibility, and a positive attitude.
  • strong Christian faith and commitment to modeling Christian values.
  • Completion of background check is required for all volunteers to ensure the safety of children in the camp setting. 
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check in accordance with local laws and regulations.
