Position Details

We are looking for a dynamic Freelance Web Designer who will be responsible for creating great websites for our clients. Primary duties include conceptualizing and implementing creative ideas for client websites, as well as creating visual elements that are in line with our client's vision and branding. You will be working closely with our web development team to ensure a proper and hassle-free implementation. 

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent visual design skills and be proficient in graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Strong attention to detail and must be familiar with and capable of conducting and performing E2E testing. Candidates should have experience and working knowledge of GoDaddy, Wix, Bluehost, Hostgator, WordPress, custom coding, and or (WYSIWYG) plug-and-drop applications. 

Job Details:

We are seeking individuals with the following background and experience in with skills and abilities to perform the following: 

  • Conceptualizing creative ideas with clients.
  • Integrating client CMS programs and data feeds into websites.
  • Optimizing sites for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Employing industry and design best practices through the website build process.
  • Design SEO-engaging and responsive websites, and landing pages.
  • Testing and improving the design of the website (E2E).
  • Establishing design guidelines, standards, and best practices
  • Communicate and maintain positive working relations with clients.
  • Maintaining the appearance of websites by enforcing content standards.
  • Designing visual imagery for websites and ensuring that they are in line with branding for clients.
  • Working with different content management systems.
  • Communicating design ideas using user flows, process flows, site maps, and wireframes.
  • Incorporating functionalities and features into websites.
  • Designing sample pages including colors and fonts.
  • Preparing design plans and presenting the website structure.
  • Working with marketing and research teams to incorporate brand elements and relevant market research findings into the website
  • Providing internal support and external customer service throughout the build and launch process of the website
  • Proficient in various software programs including CSS, HTML, and JavaScript.

Web Designer Requirements:

  • A relevant degree in a related field.
  • Must be able to meet strict deadlines and not exceed project milestones
  • Proficiency in graphic design software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and other visual design tools.
  • Proficiency in front-end development web programming languages such as HTML and CSS,
  • JQuery, and JavaScript.
  • Good understanding of content management systems.
  • Good understanding of search engine optimization principles.
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.
  • Excellent visual design skills.
  • Up-to-date experience with international web protocols, standards, and technologies.
  • Creative and open to new ideas.
  • Adaptable and willing to learn new techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills.


In order to be considered for a position with Harper Grayson Communications, the following minimum requirements must be met:

Education: Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in the fields of Web Development, Programming or Computer Graphics Design, Multimedia Design, and Animation.

  • Must be over the age of 18 with a stable internet connection
  • Must have a working cell phone
  • Must have own desktop computer/laptop/tablet
  • Strong understanding of the target audience and industry trends. 
  • Proficiency with computers, programming, content management software, social media platforms, Webhosting, MS Office, Google Docs, Google Drive, and SEO keywords short tail and long tail, CSS, HTML, and JavaScript
