The Job

As a DevOps Engineer, you will own the infrastructure powering our core products. You will manage our AWS environments, ensure we follow best security practices and SOPs, and generally do DevSecOps.

Responsibilities

• Manage production and staging AWS environments
• Write Infrastructure as Code in Java using AWS CDK
• Ensure the organization follows cloud security best practices
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Monitoring and metrics
• Incident management through to resolution
• Plan and coordinate releases

Qualifications

• 5+ years of AWS experience
• 5+ years of Java experience
• Excellent understanding of Infrastructure as Code (CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Strong understanding of cloud security fundamentals
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or AWS CodePipeline
• Scripting languages (Unix/Linux shell scripting)
• Solid understanding of Linux and networking fundamentals
• Monitoring (Prometheus, NewRelic)
• Infrastructure tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Active Directory)

Compensation

• Base salary of $120,000/year - $150,000/year

The Company

Hare Media Group is a data company. We provide both businesses and consumers with information retrieval and reporting services. Our primary markets are people search, reverse phone lookups, vehicle history reports, and property records. While we do provide reports, that doesn't make us a consumer reporting or credit agency (under FCRA). Our mission is to provide easy access to public records at a reasonable cost.

HMG was officially founded in March of 2021, but the original startup was founded in early 2019. While Hare Media Group is still a small company (less than 20 employees as of January 2022), it would be inaccurate to call us a startup. We are a profitable company with strong financials, that was bootstrapped entirely by founders, with no outside investment. Right now, we're working to scale from 15M AAR to 50M AAR.
