Description

The Staff Consultant role is ideal for recent graduates or professionals with 0–2 years of accounting, finance, or related experience who want to grow into a career in consulting. You’ll work on diverse engagements, such as accounting process improvement to ERP modernization, technical accounting support, and accounting technology implementation, while receiving consistent coaching and feedback.

At Harbor View, we believe in learning by doing. You’ll work directly alongside Senior Consultants and Managers, gaining exposure to clients and leadership early in your career. The projects you support will help clients solve real-world business problems and prepare you to take on greater responsibility over time.


Role Summary

As a Staff Consultant, you will:

  • Support accounting, finance, and consulting engagements under the supervision of experienced team members.
  • Assist on client ERP Modernization and accounting system implementations.
  • Help identify process inefficiencies and propose improvements that add measurable client value.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, building confidence and communication skills.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to deliver timely, accurate, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks while developing technical, analytical, and interpersonal consulting skills.


Responsibilities

  • Perform client accounting and finance functions.
  • Prepare documentation alongside our clients to support their external audits.
  • Assist in developing client deliverables such as reports, dashboards, and process flows.
  • Work with accounting and mid-marketing ERP systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to analyze client data, evaluate their process gaps, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Participate in engagement planning and delivery.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate initiative, curiosity, and a willingness to learn new tools and concepts.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or consulting (internship experience accepted).
  • Foundational understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • High attention to detail, organization, and professionalism.
