Description

Harbor View Consulting is an accounting and advisory firm built on relationships, integrity, and results. As a Senior Consultant, you will help our clients strengthen their financial operations, implement new systems, and improve decision-making processes.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of engagement workstreams, managing tasks from project planning to delivery, while serving as a mentor and resource for Staff Consultants. You’ll have opportunities to collaborate with firm leadership, participate in strategic discussions, and see your work shape the outcomes of our clients.

Your projects will range from accounting process improvement to ERP modernization, technical accounting support, and accounting technology implementation. Role Summary

As a Senior Consultant, you will:

  • Lead engagements, ensuring deliverables meet Harbor View’s standards of quality, accuracy, and client value.
  • Mentor and develop Staff Consultants, fostering a culture of growth and accountability.
  • Serve as a primary day-to-day client contact for projects, building relationships and trust through proactive communication and reliable execution.
  • Collaborate with Managers and Directors to define project scope, manage budgets, and identify opportunities for improvement or expansion.
  • Contribute to the firm’s knowledge base and methodology development, helping refine our best practices as we grow.


Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple concurrent client engagements with responsibility for quality, timeline, and delivery.
  • Perform accounting and finance tasks for our clients.
  • Lead process improvement efforts for our clients, diagnosing inefficiencies and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Support ERP modernization and accounting technology implementations
  • Prepare and present deliverables such as finance transformation roadmaps, client SOPs, dashboards, and management reports.
  • Train and mentor Staff Consultants, providing technical guidance, feedback, and growth opportunities.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to client stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Identify client needs and collaborate internally to propose new or extended solutions.
  • Participate in firm initiatives such as recruiting, training, and knowledge-sharing programs.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 3–5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or consulting (public accounting or advisory experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and operational accounting processes.
  • Experience with ERP or accounting systems.
  • CPA, MBA, or related certification (or active pursuit) preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead workstreams, manage priorities, and mentor others.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and client service skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and thrive in a dynamic consulting environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, primarily within the Baltimore/Washington region.

Salary

$80,000 - $120,000 per year
