Overview
Our Recruiter owns the full arc of how someone joins the firm: the first outreach, the screen, the experience of being a candidate here, and the first week on the job.
You will source candidates and run screens, shape how Harbor View is seen in the market, build relationships with Baltimore college accounting programs, manage our subcontract consultant bench, and make sure every new hire's first week is worth the move they made.
It suits someone a few years into a recruiting career who wants to run a function rather than work a desk. You will have real autonomy, direct access to firm leadership, and genuine room to grow your career as the firm grows.
Description
The Recruiter is responsible for full-cycle recruiting at Harbor View: sourcing candidates, conducting initial screens, coordinating interviews with firm leadership, and guiding people through to offer. You will build and maintain a pipeline of accounting and finance professionals across the Baltimore market, and stay in touch with strong candidates over time so the firm has people to call when a role opens.
Alongside recruiting, you will manage the operational side of talent: our roster of subcontract consultants, onboarding for new hires, and the reporting that keeps firm leadership current on hiring. You will expand where our roles are advertised, draft recruiting content for the firm's channels, and build relationships with Baltimore college accounting programs.
This is a role with a lot of independence. You will set your own week, work directly with firm leadership, and be measured on results rather than activity. Harbor View's values are Collaboration, Results, Efficiency, Diversity, Iteration, and Transparency, and this role touches all of them.
Role Summary
As a Recruiter, you will:
- Own full-cycle recruiting for the firm, from first outreach through offer.
- Conduct initial phone screens and recommend to firm leadership who should move forward.
- Build and work a pipeline of accounting and finance professionals across the Baltimore market, including candidates who are not actively looking.
- Manage the firm's roster of subcontract consultants, keeping it current and growing it against what our client teams need.
- Run onboarding so every new hire and contractor is productive in their first week.
- Expand where Harbor View advertises and build relationships with Baltimore college accounting programs.
- Keep hiring data accurate and report on it, so firm leadership always knows where things stand.
Responsibilities
- Source candidates through job boards, professional networks, direct outreach, referrals, and the firm's candidate database, including people who are not actively looking.
- Write and place job postings and keep listings current across all channels.
- Conduct initial phone screens using structured interview guides, document findings, and route recommendations to firm leadership.
- Coordinate interviews between candidates and firm leadership, including scheduling, prep materials, and follow-up.
- Own the candidate experience end to end, keeping people informed at every stage and responding promptly whether or not we move forward.
- Maintain relationships with strong candidates who are not available now, so the firm has people to call when a role opens.
- Keep candidate and hiring records accurate and current, and produce regular reporting on pipeline, sources and hiring activity.
- Manage the firm's subcontract consultant roster: availability, agreements, documentation, and readiness to start client work.
- Execute onboarding for new employees and contractors, including pre-start setup, first-week logistics, and coordination with IT, payroll and firm leadership.
- Manage relationships with outside recruiting partners, including regular briefings on the firm's hiring priorities.
- Build relationships with Baltimore college accounting programs, including career fairs and student organizations, and draft recruiting content for the firm's channels.
Qualifications
- 2 to 4 years of recruiting experience, in-house or agency.
- Experience recruiting in public accounting, professional services or finance strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to source passive candidates, not only work inbound applicants.
- Strong interviewing and assessment skills, with the judgment to tell a genuinely strong candidate from a well-presented one.
- Excellent written communication. This role writes constantly: candidate outreach, status updates, recruiting content, interview notes.
- Highly organized, with a track record of holding many concurrent priorities without dropping any of them.
- Sound judgment with confidential candidate and employee information.
- Comfortable learning new systems. We will teach you ours; no specific software experience is required.
- Based in the Baltimore metropolitan area and able to work a hybrid schedule.
- No specific degree or certification is required. We are interested in what you can do.
Compensation and Benefits
