Description

The Manager role combines leadership, client management, and operational excellence. You’ll lead engagement teams across a portfolio of clients, providing both strategic oversight and technical direction.

You’ll also mentor Senior and Staff Consultants, fostering a collaborative environment where people learn, grow, and deliver impactful results. Beyond project delivery, you’ll have opportunities to influence firm initiatives, from refining delivery methodologies to business development strategies and team building.

Role Summary

As a Manager, you will:

  • Lead multiple client engagements, ensuring high-quality delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations, communications, and relationships.
  • Oversee teams of Senior and Staff Consultants—delegating effectively, coaching consistently, and fostering professional growth.
  • Support Directors and firm leadership on engagement strategy, client expansion, and operational improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of firm initiatives, best practices, and training programs.
  • Participate in business development efforts, proposal creation, and prospective client discussions.
  • Model the firm’s culture by exemplifying excellence, empathy, and integrity.


Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of client engagements from planning through delivery.
  • Review and approve key deliverables (financial reports, process documentation, ERP implementations).
  • Oversee multiple project budgets, timelines, and staffing allocations.
  • Lead process improvement and financial transformation initiatives across industries.
  • Provide technical accounting and financial guidance to clients.
  • Mentor and evaluate Senior and Staff Consultants through ongoing feedback and performance discussions.
  • Collaborate with leadership to refine service offerings, operational frameworks, and best practices.
  • Support business development through relationship cultivation and thought leadership.
  • Ensure all client engagements align with Harbor View’s standards of quality and ethics.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or consulting (public accounting, audit, or advisory background preferred).
  • CPA, MBA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proven experience leading teams and managing multiple client engagements simultaneously.
  • Strong technical foundation in accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with mid-market ERP and financial systems (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with executive-level clients and deliver actionable insights.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, primarily within the Baltimore/Washington region.
